CMC announces the orientation to transform into a digital enterprise and to soon launch the C-Open ecosystem

Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of CMC said that CMC must transform itself into a digital company following the general trend of technology industry. In the near future, CMC will announce its digital strategy and launch its open ecosystem, "C-Open".

The above information has been shared by Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of CMC at the meeting session on January 16, in the conference for deploying tasks in 2019 of the Information and Communications Industry.

The leader of CMC also said that, as of the end of 2018, total revenue of the corporation is expected to reach over 6,300 billion VND, meeting the plan and growing 15% compared to 2017. In particular, IT solution and service segment has revenue of over 3,000 billion VND, accounting for over 50%; Telecommunications service segment earns 2,000 billion VND, accounting for over 30%; and Software service segment reaches 500 billion VND of revenue, accounting for over 10%. The growth of these sectors are 26%, 30% and 54%, respectively. It is expected that the corporation's profit will be more than 300 billion VND, completing the plan and growing 19% compared to 2017. By the end of 2018, the Corporation has 3,000 employees in the staff, and the scale of personnel is increased 25% compared to 2017.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, simultaneously with the transformation into a digital company, in the upcoming stage, CMC also determines the goal of building a digital platform for all organizations and enterprises.

Also at the conference for deploying tasks in 2019 of Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh has confirmed the 5-year operation plan of CMC, from now until 2013, with the goal of becoming a company with revenue of 1 billion USD.

In the coming years, CMC Corporation aims to achieve strong domestic revenue growth, and at the same time bring high-quality technologies, products and services to countries and regions such as: Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Asia, Europe and the US. At the end of 2017, the company established CMC Global, CMC Japan and CMC Ciber (Europe) to develop international market. Its goal is striving for revenue earned from international market in the next 5 years to account for 30-50% of the corporation's total revenue.

Affirming that the goal of CMC in the next stage is to participate in building a digital platform for all organizations and enterprises, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh also pledged that: “The investment scale of CMC in the next 5 year must be at least 5,000-10,000 billion VND, so that we can have infrastructure that is strong enough for development. Just like VNPT or Viettel, we must transform ourselves into a digital company. In time to come, we will officially announce our digital strategy, which includes the official construction of an open ecosystem of CMC called "C-Open", which is expected to be released soon after Lunar New Year 2019”.

In particular, regarding the 5-year development plan (2019-2023), CMC sets the target revenue in 2023 to be 20,000 - 25,000 billion VND (and strives to earn about 1 billion USD). In which, IT solution and service segment is expected to have revenue of 8,000-10,000 billion VND, accounting for 40%; Telecommunications service is expected to earn 7,000-10,000 billion VND, accounting for 40%; and software and digital content segment is expected to reach 3,000-5,000 billion VND of revenue, accounting for 20%. The average growth rate from 2019 to 2023 is expected to be 25%/year. The target profit in 2023 is 1,000 billion VND. The average profit growth rate from 2019 to 2023 is 25%. The technology corporation also expects to have 10,000 employee in its staff in 2023.

In 2019 alone, the target revenue and profit of CMC are expected to be 8,000 billion VND and 480 billion VND, respectively. 

It is known that in 2018, CMC has promoted investment in technology development including mastering cloud computing technology, self-building and providing CMC Private Cloud services (100% Made by CMC) which integrate the digital transformation system on Cloud and Multi Cloud platform, investing in solid telecommunications infrastructure with trans-Southeast Asia cable system CVCS, Datacenter, AI software, IoT, etc. At the end of 2018, CMC Creative Space (CCS) has been officially started building in Ho Chi Minh City, where a Datacenter of 1.3 ha with 1,200 racks, designed according to the world-class standard of Uptime Tier 3 will be resided.

Notably, CMC's investment strategy in the field of information security has initially gained achievements with success of CMC InfoSec. Currently, CMC InfoSec is strategically cooperating with 4 pillars of government information security, providing products to support the defense against malicious code for enterprises; CISE has a certain market share in the ministries and critical agencies; security services are deployed at 50% of banks in Vietnam; and the most prominent success is CMC NextGen SOC, a new-generation center for network security management which is developed completely by CMC InfoSec. This is one of the pioneering network security management centers in Vietnam that successfully integrated artificial intelligence (AI), Automation and Machine Learning technology to optimize the detection of attacks, isolation and logs analysis for digital investigation.
