Attending the ceremony together with Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan were Ms. Pham Thi Hoe - Vice President of Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho - Chief of the Office of the Association. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan said: “The Association is working to enable Vietnamese people, especially students, to know how to make use of information technology. CMC Corporation is the IT company that has been accompanying the Association for many years, since the days that I was the Vice President, and has sponsored computers for students of Nguyen Du School in Laos. After I became the President of the Association, CMC continues to be an enthusiastic companion, acting towards the development of schools for the development of human resources and for citizens to study according to global standards, in which being able to use foreign languages and computer are important skills. I want to send the sincerest thank you to CMC for their companionship to bring wisdom and light to teachers and students of poor schools. "
Dong Xa is an elementary school in the island district of Quang Ninh Province, where facilities are still limited. It is the wish of the Association to equip the school with a computer room, so that teachers and students can improve their teaching and learning conditions, and then the technical capability of the school. By the time of 22 May 2020, the room has been completed and put into operation. Representing Dong Xa Elementary School, Principal Le Thi Van said: “The school and the teachers are very excited to know that we will receive funding from Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and CMC Corporation. In fact, we already have several computer sets, however, the number is not enough to meet the needs for teaching and learning of teachers and students, as well as parents. The computers sponsored by CMC will be used during Informatics class hours and for online Math and English contests. We would like to send the sincerest thank to Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and CMC Corporation.”
Established in 1996, Vietnam Association for Promoting Education has the mission of "Promoting education and talents, and building the country into a learning society." The gift-giving at Dong Xa Elementary School is the first activity of the Association in 2020. This year, it is expected that the Association will visit several mountainous provinces to award scholarships to the students there. In mid-June, the Association will also organize a program called "Learning is unending" to award scholarships to students and workers who have the spirit of striving to study at 22 provinces and cities across the country.
For CMC Corporation, this sponsorship is included in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the corporation.
